MANCHESTER

About the year 1815, a year or more before Clinton was platted,  Mahlon and Adam C. Stewart laid out a village about three miles northeasterly from the village of Clinton, which they named Manchester, though when sufficiently advanced to be accorded postal facilities, there being another Manchester somewhere in the state, the post office was named Nimisilla, probably from the river or creek of that name, a short distance south of the village." MIDDLEBURY (NOW EAST AKRON)

Founded by Capt. Joseph HART and Aaron NORTON in 1807.  Hart's daughter Eliza was the first white child born here.  She became Mrs. Roswell Kent. Also born here was W.G. Robinson who managed Akron's most historic playhouse.

MOGADORE

Settled 1828.- Located in Springfiled Twp.

MUNROE FALLS

Founded in 1836 by Edmund MUNROE.
