BRADLEY, KNAPP,
NEWBERRY posted by
Candice Bradley on Friday, July 17, 1998
-
My grandfather, Edward Filer (or Filor) BRADLEY, moved his family from Rochester,
NY, to Akron (Summit County) and Cleveland around 1917/1918. Edward's parents
lived in a Rochester business district but may have been from Ireland or
of Irish descent. Edward was married to Flora Adella (NEWBERRY) Bradley,
probably around 1910 at Westminster Presbyterian in Rochester. They had two
children, my father Charles Edward Bradley (b. 1912 Rochester) and Alfred
Filor Bradley (b. 1914, d. 1988 Rochester). Flora Adella and the children
moved back to Rochester after her father (Charles Knapp Newberry) died (probably
between 1919-1921). Edward Bradley did not move back to Rochester. He probably
remained in Ohio. He may have been born around 1885. He was drafted in 1917-18
at Fort Dix, NJ but received a medical discharge and saw no active service.
