Dr. Arthur M. Cole

I gathered most of the information in this Biography from Samuel Lane's "Fifty Years and over of Akron and Summit County."
Arthur M. Cole was born to Edmon H. and Ann L. (Boies) Cole, in Everett, Summit County, Ohio. on July the 6, 1850. Worked as a clerk in his father's store in Peninsula for several years. Graduated form the Wooster University, medical dept. in 1875, also attended the collage of Pysicians and Surgens in New York. Practiced sucessfuly for two years in Pensula.
Upon the death of his father he joined his brother Herbert W., in the runnig of the family store, untill his election as treasurer of Summit County, in 1882. An office which held for four years (two terms of two years each).
Married to Mrs. Lucy J. Truscott. of Cleavland, On January 20, 1876. They had two children Samuel Jackson,born May 30, 1878. and Edmund Herbert, born November 26, 1882.
Organised Akron Twine and Cordage Works, which he was secretary, tresurer, and manager, untill it mearged with the National Cordage Company of New York City, January 1, 1891. He was also the president of the J. C. Boiler Company, and for a time of the City National Bank of Akron, and several other business in Akron.
He was also an active Member of the Akron Board of Trade.
Death: Nov. 8, 1922, Buried: Cedar Grove Cemetery
