DECKER, HOGLE,
SCOVILLE posted by
Gerri on Monday, May 18, 1998
-
I have been told that on August 28, 1933 the following article appeared
in a newspaper called the "Boston Evening Transcript", Boston Heights, Summit
Co, OH. "The 46th. annual reunion of the family of Hiram HOGLE was held Saturday,
August 12, at the summer home of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. SCOVILLE at Morrison
Lake, Clarkesville, Michigan with 43 members present, seven of this number
being charter members. The next meeting will be held the second Saturday
in August, 1934 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. DECKER, Clarkesville, Michigan.
Plans have been started for the 50th. reunion in 1937." The above reunion
was held in Ionia Co, MI. Ionia County never had a newspaper called the "Boston
Evening Transcript". It may be that one of the descendants of Hiram HOGLE
lived in Boston Heights in 1933 and submitted this to the newspaper. Can
someone tell me whether there is or was a Boston Heights, OH (I cannot find
it on my atlas)? I was told that it is about 38 miles south of Fairport Harbor,
OH. Can someone tell me if there was a newspaper named the "Boston Evening
Transcript"? If there is or was a "Boston Evening Transcript" can you direct
me to someone who could tell me whether it is possible to get a copy of the
above article?
